Jerry Hick's campaign for the leadership of Amicus led to a dramatic outcome: the Respect activist came second and built a dramatic momentum in the movement. He explains the way in which the left in Amicus posed concrete solutions, and suggests ways in which socialists can pose similar suggestions over employment, nationalisation, taxation and priorities for state spending.
He discusses the new wave of resistance by parents, un-unionised workers, anti-war protestors and organised workers coming into action against the employers' offensive.
