Workers at Vestas wind turbine blades risk unemployment as their factory is scheduled to be shut down on 31st July. They have currently been in occupation for seven days. This is the only such factory in the UK - its closure would be a step backwards when what we really need is to massively increase investment in renewable technologies. As the Government has spent billions to help the banking and automotive sectors, we need them to also help support "green" industry as well.

Called jointly by the Campaign against Climate Change and the RMT (National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers)
On Wednesday 29th the case goes to court for Vestas to take out an injunction to evict the occupiers of the plant in Newport on the Isle of Wight. Hence the need for a show of support Tuesday evening – please don't let the rain put you off - there will also be a big demonstration outside the court on the Isle of Wight on Wednesday morning
